Mounties earn road win
Southmont now has a three-game winning streak after traveling to South Putnam on Tuesday and winning 78-58.
The Mounties took control early and led 27-15 after one quarter and 48-32 at halftime.
Southmont (13-6, 4-2 SAC) will look to earn another conference win when they host Frankfort (2-18, 0-6 SAC) on Friday.
Athenians lose to Knights
Crawfordsville was defeated Tuesday at Lafayette Central Catholic 56-40.
The Knights were ahead 34-26 at halftime despite 18 points from Athenian freshman guard Johnovan Smith.
Crawfordsville could only muster four points in the final quarter while Central Catholic widened their lead with nine points.
Smith ended the game with 21 points.
Crawfordsville (6-14, 2-4 SAC) will travel Friday to Sagamore Conference rival Danville (10-10) for their last SAC basketball game in the storied conference.
Chargers defeat Clinton Central
North Montgomery jumped out to an 8-0 lead against Clinton Central (1-19) at home on Tuesday. The Chargers led the game from start to finish.
The Chargers were led by senior Cam Enlow’s 15 points. Senior Kelby Harwood added 14 points while playing limited minutes in the second half.
North Montgomery (7-12, 1-6 SAC) will celebrate senior night Friday when Tri-West (14-6, 6-0 SAC) comes to the Charger gym.

South wrestlers keep winning
Southmont’s wrestling team defeated Frankfort 84-21 on Tuesday.
Pinning Hotdogs were Cole Fullenwider (95), Luke Light (113), Hunter Chieppo (120), Samuel Haslam (132), Gavin Mason (138), Derek Hale (144), Tyson Kelsey (150) and Kasen Bushong (157).
Southmont is now 6-0 and will wrestle today at Tri-West.
