Athenians crowned SAC champions
Crawfordsville dominated Frankfort with a 5-0 win over the Hot Dogs on Wednesday.
The victory earned the Athenians the Sagamore Athletic Conference Championship title.
Four out of five varsity matches were complete shutouts.
The Athenian No. 1 singles player Reagan Cox won 6-1, 6-1. No. 2 singles CC Cox won 6-0, 6-0 and No. 3 singles Caroline Bowling won 6-0, 6-0.
Crawfordsville’s No. 1 doubles team of Isla Seward and Alayna Hall and No. 2 doubles team of Elliot Baker and Emma Buser both won 6-0, 6-0.

MC United U15 splits matches
MC United U15 split their games over the weekend. On Friday, fielding only 10 players, the team prevailed 3-2. Reva Douglas scored unassisted, while Ryder Newkirk added two goals with assists from Trystan Reyes and Garrett Hudson. Skyler Strickland made 11 saves in goal.
On Sunday, United fell to the WSU Twisters 2-8. Clay Edgecombe scored both goals, assisted by Owen Huesca and Kohen Bonebrake. Riley Robinson had six saves in goal. The team travels to Ben Davis for tournament play on Saturday.
GOLF
Mustangs place second
Fountain Central finished second in the Bi-County Golf Meet on Wednesday.
Mustang Eli Foxworthy shot a 90, William Armstrong and Alan Blankinship each shot a 93 and Ayden Donaldson recorded a 96 for a team score of 372.
Covington won the championship with a 337.
Athenians drop meet with Mavs
Crawfordsville played at The Ravines Golf Club and were outshot by McCutcheon 167-193.
Crawfordsville scores were Caiden Murray 45, Owen Pierce 49, Tanner Gilland 49, Colten Custer 50 and Jude Hurt 50.
Crawfordsville will compete Saturday at Rocky Ridge in the Sagamore Athletic Conference meet.
