Mustangs lose twice
Fountain Central played a doubleheader against Wabash River Conference rival Parke Heritage on Saturday and lost 15-12, and 14-3.
In the first game, Mustang Jacquelyn Weber hit two home runs with seven RBI but the Wolves held on for the win.
Weber had two hits in the second game but the Mustangs only had four hits in the game.
Fountain Central (5-17, 2-12 WRC) traveled Monday to Bethesda Christian.
BASEBALL
Athenians beat Park Tudor
Crawfordsville played host to Park Tudor on Saturday and won 5-4.
The Athenians jumped out to a 4-0 lead after one inning thanks to three straight singles including Sam Minnette’s RBI hit.
An insurance run in the fifth inning proved to be the difference as Park Tudor closed the gap to 5-4 in the top of the fifth.
Crawfordsville’s Henry Bannon recorded the win and Ethan Campbell recorded a save by pitching the last two innings and striking out four.
Athenian Matt Miller was 3-for-3 in the game. Jude Coursey was 2-for-4 and scored two runs.
Crawfordsville (9-10-1, 5-6 SAC) played a Sagamore Conference doubleheader on Monday against Frankfort (11-10, 7-4 SAC).
Chargers upend Rossville
North Montgomery traveled to 1A No. 3 Rossville on Saturday and won 7-5.
The Chargers outhit the Hornets 10-7 led by senior Cade Cole who was 2-for-3 with two RBI.
Charger junior Crew Cole picked up the win by pitching 5.1 innings. Aiden Ambriz-Cruz pitched 1.1 innings to earn the save.
North Montgomery (15-7, 6-5 SAC) played Monday at home against SAC leader Tri-West (15-5, 10-1 SAC) in a doubleheader.
Mustangs drop two games to Wolves
Fountain Central lost twice Saturday to Wabash River Conference foe Parke Heritage. The Wolves won the first game 14-4 and the second game 13-5.
In both games Parke Heritage was able to score often and the Mustangs could not keep up.
The Wolves had 16 hits in the first game to the Mustangs’ four. Parke Heritage had 15 hits in the second game to Fountain Central’s 12.
Mustang Asher Davis had five hits on the day to lead his team.
Fountain Central (5-17, 5-9 WRC) played host to Bethesda Christian (9-11) on Monday.
