INDIANAPOLIS — On Jan. 18 the MIBOR Realtor Association recognized industry and community service standouts at its annual event — The Ball: A Benefit for the Realtor Foundation. Members and guests celebrated a new year of opportunities and honored local real estate professionals who made a positive impact to central Indiana in 2019.

The ball serves as a signature fundraiser for the Realtor Foundation, MIBOR’s philanthropic arm that raises funds to support the operations of homelessness service providers. In total the event raised more than $70,000 for the homeless of central Indiana.

This year’s industry awards were presented at the Indiana Roof Ballroom in front of a room full of guests.

The 2019 Realtor of the Year was awarded to Steve Zachary of Carpenter Realtors. The Realtor of the Year award is given to one member who exemplifies professionalism and success in the area of real estate as well as a commitment to MIBOR activities and services.

Dona Kyler of Arctic Heating and Cooling was named the 2019 Affiliate of the Year. The Affiliate of the Year award is given to an affiliate member who displays outstanding professionalism and service during 2019 to MIBOR.

Emma Dinkins of F.C. Tucker Company and Greg Morrison of Davis Morrison Realty, LLC took home Distinguished Service Awards. The Distinguished Service Award celebrates a lifetime of outstanding service and commitment to the real estate industry.

Paul Wyman of The Wyman Group was honored with the F.C. “Bud” Tucker Community Service Award. This special award is not granted every year — when it is, it is bestowed upon a MIBOR member who has made a direct impact on the community outside of real estate, helping to build a positive image for the real estate industry.

Connor Simonson of F.C. Tucker Company was awarded the Denver Hutt Rising Star Award. Established in 2016, the Denver Hutt Rising Star award is designed to recognize a MIBOR member new to the industry who has made a positive impact on the real estate industry and in the community. The award is named in honor of former MIBOR staff member and young community leader, Denver Hutt.

“This year’s winners have all made a tremendous impact to the real estate industry and their communities,” said Jenni Ruiz, 2020 MIBOR president.

“Their commitment truly exemplifies exemplify what a Realtor should be.”
