Reclaimed by Grace reopens

A locally-owned-and-operated furniture store offering rustic and modern designs — using only reclaimed wood — has moved to a new location on Grant Avenue from its original downtown storefront.

Hosting the grand reopening for Reclaimed by Grace on Monday were owners Travis and Jami Harrington. The couple was flanked by Crawfordsville Mayor Todd Barton, Crawfordsville Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Cassie Hagan and Assistant Executive Director Casey Hockersmith for the occasion.

“Travis and I were kind of escaping our corporate worlds back in early 2017. We decided to start building, blending metal and wood creations together, pretty much for ourselves, and everybody wanted them,” Jami said. “That’s when we decided to start building for other people.”

Orders started adding up, Jami said, allowing the pair to set up a storefront just two doors down from the Little Mexico restaurant downtown.

“We did downtown Main (Street) for about three years,” she said. “We had a lot of good foundation there and lot of good relationships that were built over the years.”

However, when the current location of 114 N. Grant Ave. became available, Travis and Jami decided to make the move to the more familiar location.

The home-turned-storefront at the southeast corner of Market Street and Grant Avenue more than suits their needs, Jami said. The building comes complete with a retail space for browsing, conference areas for customization meetings and even space for children’s classes.

“Some people like to chat about their projects, and that’s why we have a brick-and-mortar,” Jami said. “You can come right in and talk with us and our wood samples, talk about size and expectations — we want to make sure we get in your head and know your wants, wishes and needs for your project so you’re very happy at the end of this process.

Reclaimed by Grace is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays and from
9 a.m.to 3 p.m. Saturdays.

“We really hope the interactive art classes really take off; they’re going to be amazing,” Jami added, noting she can now host 20-30 students at a time thanks to the larger space. “We’re so excited to grow that. It’s healthy, kids love it and that’s the favorite aspect of my job, teaching the class. They can leave here with something you’re going to love.”
