Richard Bland, 60, of Crawfordsville passed away Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2020, at Indiana University Health in Indianapolis.
He was born March 7, 1960, at Kankakee, Illinois, to the late Karl Richard and Marion Lucille (Schaffer). Richard attended Ladoga Elementary School and then graduated from Crawfordsville High School.
Richard married Martha A. McNulty Staggs on June 11, 1989, at Crawfordsville. She preceded him in death May 17, 2014. Martha had two adult children, Deanna (Mike) Stabler of Crawfordsville and John Staggs of Rockville.
Richard worked at Kroger in the produce department, and most recently he volunteered at the FISH Food Pantry in Crawfordsville. Richard was a huge St. Louis Cardinals fan, and traveled there several times to watch them play. He was also an IU basketball fan. Richard was a member of Crossroads Community Church of the Nazarene.
He is survived by brother-in-law William “Bill” (Judy) McNulty of Ladoga and a sister.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Martha; and a brother.
Graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 14 at Stoner Cemetery, with Pastor Mark Roberts officiating. Due to the current mandates, masks are required and social distancing is expected to be followed. Servies & Morgan Funeral Home has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
