FOUNTAIN COUNTY — The Indiana Department of Transportation announces a road closure that will impact U.S. 136 between Hillsboro and Waynetown in Fountain County.
Beginning on or after Monday, crews will close a bridge in this area to perform scour protection and clear right-of-way. Work is expected to last a week but is weather-dependent and subject to change.
The official detour around the closure is State Road 341 north to Newtown if you’re heading westbound and S.R. 55 south to Wingate, south on S.R. 25 back to U.S. 136 if you’re heading eastbound.
INDOT encourages drivers to use caution in and around work zones and to seek an alternate route during the closure.
