Robert "Bob" Benjamin Coudret, 58, of Crawfordsville passed away Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2024, in his home.

Bob was born March 24, 1966, to the late Kenneth Coudret and Dorothy Jane Allen Coudret in Evansville. Bob graduated from Southmont High School in 1984 and received his bachelor of science from Indiana State University in 1988. He was hired as a Deputy with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office in June 1988. Bob served as a K-9 Officer, as well as being Chief Deputy of the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office from 1995-2006. He retired for the sheriff’s office in 2006 and switched careers and began as the West Central Career and Technical Education instructor of law enforcement/criminal justice located at Southmont High School. He retired from teaching at Southmont in 2023.

Bob loved football and was a die-hard Vikings fan. He also enjoyed grilling on his smoker. Bob especially enjoyed coaching and teaching at Southmont and made a lasting impact in the lives of his students. Bob loved being around people, was the biggest jokester with the best laugh, and loved being surrounded by family. Bob spent many years coaching football and wrestling at Southmont.

Surviving family includes: mother Dorothy; loving wife Danielle; two sons, Carter and Kyler; beloved canine best friend Captain Scout; niece Cali Elliot; four brothers, Ken Jr., Dan, Dave and Mike; two sisters, Jane Coudret and Mary Scheidler; along with many beloved nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by father Ken Coudret in 2016.

A gathering in memory of Bob Coudret will be held 3-6 p.m. Monday, Aug. 26 at Burkhart Funeral Home, 201 W. Wabash Ave. A memorial service will begin at 6 p.m.
