Robert C. “Bob” Fishero, 76, of rural Veedersburg passed away at 3:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 28, 2020, at his home.

Bob was born Nov. 4, 1944, at Danville, Illinois, the son of Charles C. and Esther V. Youngblood Fishero. He married Ruth A. McIntyre on June 6, 1970, at Dunnington, Indiana.

Bob graduated from Veedersburg High School in 1962 and Indiana College of Mortuary Science in Indianapolis in 1963. He was a fifth generation funeral director and had previously owned and operated Fishero Funeral Home, Veedersburg.

Bob retired from Overpeck Gas Company. He was instrumental in helping to organize the Veedersburg Jaycees, of which he was past president. He had also coached little league baseball in Veedersburg.

He had served in the Indiana National Guard, 38th Supply and Transport Batallion, Brazil, Indiana. He was previously a member and had attended E.U.B Church in Veedersburg. He was a life member of the Apple Tree Gab & Gossip Club, and he was a diehard Indiana University Basketball fan. He enjoyed fishing trips with his family at Lake Cumberland, Kentucky. His greatest enjoyment in life was his grandsons.

He is preceded in death by his parents and sister Carolyn Manasco Faith.

Surviving family includes: wife Ruth A. Fishero, Veedersburg; sons, Chip Fishero and Ryan (Marlana Spencer) Fishero, both of Veedersburg; grandsons, Mason and Jaxson; sister Charlene (Steve) Riedl, Peoria, Arizona; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Franciscan Health and Fresenius Dialysis for their loving concern.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 1, with visitation starting at noon Tuesday at Community Bible Baptist Church, 714 East Division Road, Veedersburg, IN 47987, with Pastor Evan Sharbaugh officiating. Burial at Rockfield Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Dickerson Funeral Home. Visitors are reminded to comply with the COVID recommendations in regards to wearing face mask.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Special Olympics, payable to Special Olympics Fountain/Warren Co., c/o Frankie Swanson, 311 Debbie Lane, Williampsort IN 47993.
