Born Nov. 10, 1954, in Painesville, Ohio, to Robert W. Bowman and Kathryn (Karr) Bowman, Bob grew up in Georgia and Indiana and after graduating from Southmont High School in 1973, he joined the Air Force where he served for seven years as administration support and on Security Forces.
He lived in numerous states until meeting Michelle and moving to Massachusetts. Bob and Michelle soon moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico, where they have lived for the past 20 years. There, Bob enjoyed the perfect weather to play his lifetime loved sport of golf. He worked and played at the Albuquerque Los Altos Golf Course where he joined and played with the Men’s Golf Association, making friends and Birdies.
Bob befriended many dogs from the Albuquerque Eastside Shelter as they were walked through the golf course. After losing their long-time pet, Buddy, he suggested checking out the shelter where he quickly bonded with his new best girl, Bella Rue. Bob shared his love for watching all sports with his favorite girls, Michelle and Bella Rue.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Bob’s memory may be made to the Albuquerque Eastside Shelter through www.KennelKompadres.org.
