Robert Weakley Peacock, born April 12, 1954, passed away Monday, Jan. 18, 2021, after a courageous 10-year battle with cancer.
Known as Robert to many and Bob to many more, he graduated from Crawfordsville High School in 1972. He attended and graduated from Indiana University and was a member of Sigma Chi fraternity. After school he returned to Crawfordsville to live and work, many years at Lithonia Lighting. Bob was an avid runner having completed 13 mini-marathons. He would always know when the Hoosiers were playing. He routinely worked in the yard and garden and was faithful at keeping the bird feeder full. Bob was comfortable and happy in the kitchen, manning the grill and routine grocery trips to Kroger.
He married Cheryl Calvert on Nov. 6, 2004. She survives.
Also surviving are son Brandon (Leslie) Peacock, Crawfordsville; daughters, Lindsey (Alfredo) Villalpando, Lindsay Calvert and Paige Lower, all of Crawfordsville; brother Norman (Cathy) Peacock; grandchildren, Claire, Kent, Blaine, Olivia, Graham, Josie and Christopher.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Dr. Norman Franklin and Margaret “Peg” Peacock and sister Barbara Ann.
A private family service will be held at Hunt & Son Funeral Home on Saturday, Jan. 23.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or the local Animal Welfare League.
