It is with heavy hearts that the family announces that Ronald Bowerman, 83, of Waynetown, passed away at 3:15 p.m. Monday, April 21, 2025, in his home following a lengthy illness, with loved ones.
He was born Aug. 16, 1941, in Crawfordsville, and was the son of the late Edgel and Doris Wilhite Bowerman. He was married to the love of his life, Orvilla Sue Douglas, and they enjoyed 57 years together. She survives.
He graduated from Perington Texas High School in 1960 and then moved to Montgomery County. Ron was a proud veteran and served with the United States Army from 1965-1967 at Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri, and later was stationed in Germany. Ron was employed by United Service in Crawfordsville for 12 years and finished his career by being employed for 30 years at Wabash College as the Store Room Manager.
Ron had a deep love for the simple joys in life — especially fishing with his grandson and son, the excitement of a good auction, as well as repairing and selling cars. He loved his grandkids more than anything and seldom missed any of their sporting activities. To know him was to love him and the way he showed up for the people that he loved will never be forgotten.
Surviving, along with his wife “Sue,” are a daughter, Tammy (Bryan) White of New Market; a son, Tim Bowerman of Waynetown; grandchildren, Derek (Shelby) White who reside in Norman, Oklahoma and are expecting a baby soon, and Emily White.
In accordance to Ron’s wishes, no services will be held.
