Ronald G. Perkins, 71, of Roachdale passed over to his eternal resting place Sunday, Aug. 7, 2022.
Ron also known as “Pinky” was the son of Clyde Raymond and Lucille Murle (Clark) Perkins. He was born Feb. 16, 1951, at Crawfordsville. Ron was a 1971 graduate of North Putnam High School.
Ron married his lifelong love, Emma Louise “Lou” Bryant on March 3, 1973. She preceded him in death in October 2000.
Ron retired from Lithonia HI-Tek Lighting after 25-plus years. He was a material handler, AKA forklift driver. Ron made many lifelong friends there. He was the “Gov” (Governor) of the place. Ron was no stranger to a bar stool and had several friends at the local watering holes that he adored. Ron was also a fixture at the local Casey’s where many would stop for small talk and gossip over coffee.
Although Ron’s Sun has set his love will shine on through the memories of those who loved him most.
Ron and Lou had two children they loved fiercely, Bridget and Ronald Jr. “Bub.” Joining their family through them were Brian Jeter and Sharon (Bean) Perkins. Ron was blessed with six grandchildren, Kagan, Kyler (Brittney Ault), Kovey and Emmalyn Jeter, Cody Perkins and Brandon (Dana) Kimmel. Papaw Ron also adored his great-granddaughter, Drew Marie Kimmel. He also is survived by sister Maria Dean Clodfelter of G.C.; three brothers, including his twin brother, Don (Jan) Perkins of Greenwood, Russell Keck Jr. (Rita) of Roachdale, and William (Bill) Keck of G.C.; and several nieces, nephews and great-nephews who loved him dearly.
Preceding Ron in death were his parents and beautiful wife.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 13, 2022, at Servies & Morgan Funeral Home, 102 E. Washington St., Roachdale. Burial will follow at Roachdale Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 12 at the funeral home.
