Ronald Howard Banta, 75, of Crawfordsville passed away Wednesday, April 1, 2020, at home,while surrounded by his loving family.
He was born Oct. 27, 1944, at Marshall, to the late Howard and Lois Jean (Hughes) Banta.
Ronald graduated from Turkey Run High School in 1962 and married the love of his life, Peggy Oakley, on Aug. 3, 1968, who survives.
Ron proudly served his country in the United States Army Reserves and worked at RR Donnelley as a machine operator for 44 years. He enjoyed working outdoors, gardening and mowing the yard. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandkids.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy Banta; sons, Scott (Jennifer) Banta and Jeff (Heather) Banta; seven grandchildren, Jordon (fiancé Porsche), Madison, Haley, Tyler, Erin, Ariel and Mitchell; sisters, Shirley Banta, Joyce Brady and Linda Patton; two brothers, Mike (Bev) Banta and Terry Banta; and dog Bubby.
Due to the current COVID-19 restrictions, there will be a private family service only Saturday, April 4 at Sanders Priebe Funeral Care, Crawfordsville. Burial will follow at Wolf Creek Cemetery in Wallace.
Memorial donations may be given in his memory to the Indiana Hemophilia Center, 8326 Naab Road, Indianapolis, IN 46260.
