Rosalyn “Jo” Thome, 70, of Ipava, Illinois, passed away at 7:48 a.m. Friday, Oct. 1, 2021, at her home.

She was born Jan. 22, 1951, at Crawfordsville, the daughter of Robert and Beverly (Stockdale) Cook. Jo first married Lyndell Schnarr. He preceded her in death. She later married David Thome.

Jo is survived by two daughters, Bobbi (Schnarr) Watkins and Melissa (Thome) Lannery, both of Ipava, Illinois; granddaughter Shona Ramey, whom she raised; grandchildren, Tyler Schnarr, Cole Lannery, Brycen Dean, Payton Thome and Talen Thome; and great-grandchildren, Bryan Nelson Jr., Oakley Ramey and Hank Chaffin.

She worked at Caterpillar Tractor Company. Most of her life she worked as a CNA at many health care centers in the area, including The Elms in Macomb, Renaissance Care Center in Canton, and retiring from Graham Hospital Home Health Care. She also always kept busy with cleaning homes and businesses as well as providing home health care for many people.

Jo was preceded in death by her parents; step-father Don Fawcett; and son DJ Thome.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
