Russell Martin of Crawfordsville passed away Friday, Dec. 4, 2020, at Franciscan Health Lafayette East. He was 81.
Mr. Martin worked at Sommer Metalcraft for 49 years. He loved sports and was a hat fanatic.
Born April 26, 1939, at Winchester, Indiana, he was the son of Keith Martin and Georgia Showalter Martin. He graduated from Fountain City High School. He married the former Lois Boller on June 13, 1965. She survives.
He is survived by his loving family, which includes: wife Lois Martin of Crawfordsville; two daughters, SuzAnn I. (Chris) Hamilton of Mooresville, North Carolina, and Deborah M. (Chris) Tanner of Dillsboro, Indiana; brother Mearil “Snork” Martin; two grandsons, Brayden Tanner and Braxton Tanner; sister-in-law Martha (Richard) Stinchcomb; three brothers-in-law, Larry Boller, Jerry (Doris) Boller and David (Cathy) Boller; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother David Martin; and sister Shirley Thompson.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 9 at Burkhart Funeral Home. Attendees are asked to follow all CDC guidelines, including social distancing and wearing a mask. A private, family service will be held at 1 p.m. that will be available on the funeral home Facebook page. Entombment will follow at the Oak Hill Cemetery Mausoleum.
