Ruth A. Wallace of Crawfordsville passed away peacefully Sunday, Oct. 11, 2020, at home, surrounded by family. She was 77.

She was a member of the Roachdale Baptist Church and loved gospel music, especially the Gaithers.

Ruth was in the dietary department at Culver Hospital for 25 years. She liked to feed and help people and did not like to see people go hungry. She worked at the FISH Food Pantry to help feed others. She liked to crochet. She also enjoyed sunflowers, cardinals and going to garage sales, looking for bargains and trying to get a good deal. Most of all, she loved her family dearly.

Born Oct. 24, 1942, at Paris, Illinois, she was the daughter of Eugene Weger and Mary Mills Weger. She graduated from Paris High School, class of 1960. She married Richard A. Wallace on Aug. 12, 1962, at Paris. He survives.

She is survived by her loving family which includes: husband Richard Wallace Sr.; two daughters, Lori Wallace Bray (Tommy) and Lynda Kay Wallace; son Richard “Rich” Wallace Jr. (Patti); four grandchildren, Sarah Hillery, Daniel Haniford, Josh Wallace and Erika Twitty; numerous great-grandchildren; and sister Edie Hewitt.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, one sister and granddaughter Rachael Haniford.

Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at Burkhart Funeral Home, 201 W. Wabash Ave., Crawfordsville. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, at the funeral home, led by Pastor Chuck Callahan. Burial will follow at Indian Creek Hill Cemetery.
