Ruth Louise (Frey) Freeman passed away Friday, Feb. 7, 2020, at Brownsburg Health Care Center, at the age of 86. She had great family support.
Ruth was the first born of Harold and Edna Frey on Dec. 11, 1933. She was the oldest of five followed by Martha, Charlie, Alice and Donna. They all four survive.
She married Malcom McDonald. He is deceased. They had three children, the Andrea “Andi” and Bradley “Brad,” both deceased, and Scott who survives. She married her second husband, Donald (Flattop) Freeman. They resided in Pittsboro. He is deceased.
Ruth was a caretaker early in her life. She worked at Hendricks County Hospital and Brownsburg Health Care as a nurse’s aid. She eventually provided daycare for children in Pittsboro for many years. She then worked in the restaurant business for several years and worked a second job as bartender at the Danville American Legion. She retired from Walmart as a greeter. Ruth was a hard worker.
She is also survived by six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Ruth generously donated her body to the Anatomical Education Program at Indiana University of School of Medicine.
A celebration of life will be held 2-5 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 23 at the Pittsboro American Legion.
