Ruth H. Davis Braun, 100, of Linden went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2020, in her home.

She was born Dec. 2, 1920, at Lafayette, to the late James P. and Elsie Kull Davis. She attended Sandridge one room school in Fairfield Township, St. James Lutheran School and Lafayette Jefferson High School, graduating in the class of 1938. She attended Purdue University for three years.

On  April 12, 1942, she married Harold G. Braun. He passed away May 20, 1987.

Ruth worked at Fairfield Mfg. during World War II and at Culligan Water in Lafayette and Indianapolis in the accounting department for 28 years before retiring in 1986.

She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, active in Bible studies at both Redeemer and St. James Lutheran churches, Lutheran Women Missionary League. She was a 50-plus year member of Fairfield Extension Homemakers, where she served in many positions and was a member of Lafayette Symphony Guild, Tippecanoe County Historical Society, Historical Prophetstown, Purdue Alumni and a 4-H Leader for many years.

Ruth enjoyed crocheting, reading, sewing and spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her sons, Richard L. (Marilyn Ewing) Braun of Marietta, Georgia, James L. (fiancée  Karen Green) Braun of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Donald E. (Tammy) Braun of Linden; five grandchildren, Misty (Thomas) Riffault, Ryan (Sarah) Braun, Joshua (fiancée Angel Scott) Braun and Jacob (Amanda) Braun, Benjamin (Melissa) Braun; 11 great-grandchildren, Julien and Luc Riffault, Anson, Owen, Ethan Braun, Ryleigh, Jacob II, Dylan, Ayden and Blayke Braun, Bella Ruales; and three siblings, Paul (Vicky) Davis of Springfield, Illinois, Marqueta Landis of Venice, Florida, and Janice Harris of West Lafayette.

Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Harold; her parents; brother John Davis; and sister, Henriette Brooks.

Visitation will be from 1:30 p.m. until time of service at 2:30 p.m., Monday, Dec. 14  at Redeemer Lutheran Church West, 510 Lindberg Road, West Lafayette, IN 47906. Pastor Joseph Townsend officiating. Burial will follow at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens, West Lafayette. Masks are required.

Memorial contributions in Ruth’s name may be given to Redeemer Lutheran Church. MA.
