Salvation Army in need of volunteers

Organizational meeting set for Sept. 30

Posted

The Salvation Army is looking for dedicated volunteers to form an advisory council in Montgomery County.

Due to several retirements, there is currently no council, and one is needed in order to continue and grow services and to provide aid in Montgomery County.

Council members meet at least four times a year and their main duty is to plan and carry out the annual Red Kettle Campaign. Money raised in Montgomery County is used to assist residents needing assistance with with utilities, food, medications, transportation, rent and more. The Salvation Army is also there in times of disaster in the county.

An organizational meeting will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sept. 30 in Room D at the Crawfordsville District Public Library, 205 S. Washington St., and should last about an hour.
