Sarah Sally (Stranger) Hunt, 82, of Roachdale passed away Thursday, Jan. 21, 2021, surrounded by her family.
She was born July 26, 1938, at Dryden, Virginia, to the late Charles and Laura (Collins) Stranger. She married Bill Hunt in 1993. He preceded her in death.
Sarah was a cook for Roachdale Elementary School for 20 years. After retirement she also cooked for a few local restaurants. She loved fishing, playing cards with her friends and family, and she especially enjoyed her granddaughters and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her grandchildren, Melissa Burdine of Marion and Amanda Burdine and JD Jessie, both of Ladoga; great-grandchildren, Jaydin, Madyson and Dylan; sisters, May McManigal, Linda Sue Price and Wan Edith Dishman; and several nieces and nephews.
Sarah was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son Frank Burdine; siblings, Janice Sprague, Bob Stranger, Rex Stranger and Ellis Stranger.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 26 at Parkersburg Christian Church, with Pastor Cody Hargis officiating. Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service Tuesday. Masks will be required and social distancing is expected to be followed. Servies & Morgan Funeral Home has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
