Season ends with conference tourney loss to Denison

GRANVILLE, Ohio — Wabash faced the top seed and second-ranked team in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association NCAA Division III rankings when the Little Giants played Denison University in the semifinal round of the 2025 North Coast Athletic Conference Men’s Tennis Championship Tournament. Wabash lost 4-0 to the host Big Red.

The Wabash number two doubles team of Tharakesh Ashokar and Cole Shifferly held a 4-3 lead when the doubles round was halted with Denison winning the first and third flights. Ashokar held a 6-5 lead in the second set of his number four singles match after losing the first set 6-0 before singles play was halted with the Big Red winning the first, second, and third singles matches.

Wabash finished the season with a 15-9 overall record and a 4-3 mark in NCAC matches. The Little Giants earned the number four seed in the conference tournament and posted a 4-1 victory in the conference tournament quarterfinal match against Oberlin to advance to Saturday’s semifinal contest against Denison. The 15-win season is the most by a Wabash team since finishing 18-15 in the 2015-16 season.
