VEEDERSBURG — A Southeast Fountain School Corp. bus mechanic is behind bars on multiple charges of sex crimes against a child.
David W. Eades, 45, Crawfordsville, faces a dozen felony counts including child molesting and sexual misconduct with a minor.
The alleged encounters happened over the course of 12 years, according to court documents. Some of them occurred at the Southeast Fountain bus garage, police learned.
Eades was suspended from his job Sept. 19 when administrators received information about alleged misconduct, and is no longer on school grounds, according to a district statement.
“Even though the allegations stem from incidents over the last several years, no allegations or charges were made against this individual until Sept. 19,” Superintendent Dan Foster said in a letter to parents and staff.
A routine criminal background check in 2017 came back clean, Foster added.
Eades was ordered held at the Fountain County Jail on $150,000 surety cash bond. His next court appearance is scheduled for Nov. 20.
Eades also faces similar charges in Warren County, according to court records.
