VEEDERSBURG — Southeast Fountain Schools announced Monday it will switch to e-learning for the next two days as coronavirus cases surge in the county.
Students will attend classes online today and Wednesday, according to the district’s website. Schools are closed Thursday and Friday for fall break.
No new cases have been reported in the district, according to the latest update from the Indiana State Department of Health.
Countywide, 16 new cases were reported Monday, bringing the grand total to 225, according to the state health department. No additional deaths were reported.
The county has the highest seven-day positivity rates in Indiana, according to the state health department.
The rate for all tests stood at 18.5%, more than three times the state average. For unique individuals, the rate was 27.8%, more than twice the state’s.
Southeast Fountain is the second district in the county to switch to e-learning in recent days. Covington students are scheduled to continue distance learning through Wednesday. Attica schools are on fall break this week.
