Current Spring Sport & Years in the Sport:  Track & Field – 5 years

Favorite Athlete in Your Sport:  Kendra Harrison, an American hurdler. Hurdling is a race with a little extra challenge which is why I think doing it is so exciting. It has always been my favorite race to do and she has been an amazing woman to look up to as she crushes race after race and breaks record after record. She even broke the world record in 2016 which shows no matter who you are or your background you can be amazing when you find your passion.

• Other Sports:  Swimming, some volleyball, some cross country

• What are your favorite memories from this sport?

Winning junior high bi-county high jump two years in a row, hurdling after practice with the Hernandez brothers and cringing every time we heard Trinidad’s foot hit, which was often.

• What are you doing to stay busy/in-shape?

After work, I come home and do yoga, run and/or do at home core exercises.

• Do you have any advice for underclassmen?

Appreciate every little moment, you never know what the future holds.

• What do you miss about the spring sports season?

Hurdling, being with friends while we would be bundled up waiting for our events, and watching who would eat the mos t food and if they would get sick after their race.

• What are your future plans?

Attend Valparaiso University to study Bio-engineering.

• Coach Owens on Paityn

“Paityn is a very detail-oriented and hard worker. She always brings good attitude to practice.”
