• Favorite Athlete in Your Sport

Probably Steve Prefontaine–he was a cross country runner but he never gave up and he has a quote: “A race is a work of art that people can look at and be affected in as many ways as they’re capable of understanding.” It’s one of my favorite quotes because it makes me fall in love with running and it helps me understand that I don’t just compete for myself– I’m competing for my family.

• Other Sports

Cross Country, Swimming, Marching Band

• What are your favorite memories from this sport?

My sophomore year when we made it to regional in our 4×4 relay.

• What are you doing to stay busy and stay in shape during this time?

Drawing, and helping my dad renovate the house.

• Do you have any advice for underclassmen?

Make high school last while you’ve got it because once it’s gone you can’t get it back, and try your best in sports and academics.

• What do you miss about the spring sports season?

I miss laughing on long runs with the distance girls and watching the boys make fun of each other.

• What are your future plans?

I plan to go to Ball State University and go into Pre-Physical therapy.

• Coach Owens on Nadya

“Nadya is very hard-working and dedicated to getting better.”
