Shirley Ann Castelluccio, 92, passed away peacefully Monday, April 14, 2025, at The Blake at New Braunfels in Texas.
She was born Feb. 21, 1933,in Dublin, Indiana, to James and Mary (Beard) Seelig. Shirley married Curtis Castelluccio in Richmond, Indiana in 1954, spending 64 loving years together until his passing in 2018.
She graduated from Lincoln High School in Cambridge City, earned her bachelor of arts degree from Earlham College and her master’s degree from Indiana State University. Shirley was an elementary school teacher, teaching fourth, fifth and sixth grade from August 1968 to May of 1991 at Hose Elementary School.
She was a former member of the First United Methodist Church in Crawfordsville. Shirley and Curtis enjoyed sailing and weekends at Lake Ridinger. She also enjoyed tending to her vegetable garden, cross stitching, quilting and putting together jigsaw puzzles. Shirley later enjoyed going to thrift stores, searching for knick knacks as gifts for friends and family.
Shirley is survived by her three sons, Chris Castelluccio, Tony (Cathy) Castelluccio and Cam Castelluccio; three grandchildren, Kimberly (Trey), Thomas (Julianna) and Nicolas; two great-grandchildren, David and Noah; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents; husband Curtis; and brother Max Seelig.
Visitation will be held Thursday, April 24 at Sanders Funeral Care, 315 S. Washington St., Crawfordsville, from 11 a.m. until the time of the service 1 p.m. Burial will follow at Oak Hill North Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest next to Curtis.
