Shirley Smith, 82, formerly of Ladoga passed away July 26, 2022, at Danville Regional Rehabilitation.
She was born Dec. 12, 1939, in Hazard, Kentucky, to the late Roy and Edna (Riley) Turner. She married Raymond Smith in 1957 in Morris Fork, Kentucky. Raymond passed away in 1992.
Shirley was a member of Morris Fork Baptist Church, and the Ladoga Christian Church. She worked at Plastines in Crawfordsville, and then for Crestline for many years. She enjoyed flowers, gardening, working in her yard, collecting antiques, and being with her family and friends.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Jerry (Heidi) Smith, Raymond “Joe” Smith and Russell “Rusty” (Angie) Smith; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and one on the way; siblings, Ginny (Tom) Giselback, Edna Lou (Ed) Deaton, Therman (Charline) Turner and Danny Turner; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son Kenneth Smith; and siblings, Richard Grover “RG”, Denvard, John Vernon and Billy Roy.
