FAIRFIELD — Southmont’s wrestling team captured the Tri-Central Invitational on Saturday. The Mounties defeated six other teams to claim the crown.
Southmont coach Jamie Welliever said the youth on his squad made the difference that rsulted in a successful day.
“Our young kids really came through,” Welliever said.
The Mounties had three wrestlers finish the day with 6-0 records. They were Lukas Scott (106), Arlon Musick (113), and Camden Laney (138).
Recording 5-1 records were Cooper Scott (120) and Max Musick (175).
Four Mounties finished with 4-2 records. They were Josh Elliott (144), Carlos Jimeniz (150), Paxton Gentry (157), and Tyler Davis (215).
