Senior Golf Results

The weekly senior golf scramble at the Crawfordsville Municipal Golf Course produced a lot of competition on Friday.

The team of Jim White, Gerry Moore, Les Clardy, Bud Arnold, Myron Watson and Steve Burkle took first place with a score of -12 to par. Jim Long, Bill Boone, Ed Roberts, Darrell Renick, Bill Combs, and Bob Stephens were second at -11 to par, while Vance Pyle, Larry Manlove, Jay Fuima, Stan Walker, Dave Crispin and Dale Cohee were third at -11 to par.

Dave Hart and John Welliever won the proxy’s, and Bob Parsons won the 80+ long drive competition.

Post 72 defeats Clinton

American Legion Byron Cox Post No. 72 ran its record to 13-5 on the season with a 6-0 win over Clinton on Thursday night.

Crawfordsville’s Jake Decker and North Vermillion’s Alex Tallman and Luke Osborn combined to toss the shutout, allowing three combined hits, while striking out four, and walking just one.

Frankfort’s Angeles had two hits, drove in two, and scored twice to lead the offense. North Montgomery’s Owen Gregg added a hit, while Fountain Central’s Josh Adams and Marian’s (Western Boone) John Bromberek each had RBIs.

Cville volleyball gears up for camp

Crawfordsville volleyball will host a youth volleyball camp July 15-18.

The camp is for students entering second through eighth grade. Session one is for individuals in grades 2-5 and will run 9-10 a.m. Session two is 10:30 a.m. to noon and is for individuals entering grades 6-8.

 

Athenians to offer

soccer camp

Crawfordsville soccer will host a youth soccer July 23-25 for boys and girls entering grades K-8.

Kindergarten through fifth grade students will participated 5-6:15 p.m., while those in grades 6-8 will practice 6:45-8:15 p.m. 

Cost is $30 each and $25 per family member thereafter. 

The camp will entail proper shooting technique, proper passing technique, defending and receiving the ball.

North football 

to have golf outing

The North Montgomery football parent club will have a golf scramble at Rocky Ridge Golf Course on July 21. 

It will be teams of four with the cost at $50 per person, which includes green fees, cart and lunch after golf.

Mulligans will be 4/$20 and there will be a 50/50 raffle drawing with prize drawings during lunch.

Thunder Baseball try-outs

The Indiana Thunder will host try outs for their 2020 13U, 14U, 15U, 16U, and 17U teams on Sunday, August 4 at North Montgomery High School on the junior-varsity field.

13U will be at 1 p.m., 14U at 3 p.m., 15U at 5 p.m. and 16 and 17U at 7 p.m.
