Steven Wesley Ehrie, 67, passed away on Aug. 2, 2022, in his home in Punta Gorda, Florida, after an extended illness.

He was born Nov. 19, 1954, at Crawfordsville, to the late Wesley J and Audrey (Swank) Ehrie. Steve lived in Crawfordsville until 2002 when he relocated to Punta Gorda.

Steve graduated from Southmont High School in 1972. He owned and operated several businesses in Indiana and Florida including Ehrie Excavating and Panther Cycle. Steve got to spend his life doing what he loved, building custom motorcycles and hot rod cars. He enjoyed traveling with his friends to car shows and Sturgis. His relationship with his friends brought him so much joy in his life.

Steve is survived by his loving spouse, Wanda Ramie; step-daughters, Sandi (Dude) Ingram of Crawfordsville, Brook (Scott) LaFountain of Cleveland, Tennessee, and Tracy (John) McRoberts of Crawfordsville; sisters, Marsha (Edward) Williams of Dothan, Alabama, Rita (Darrell) Rader of Montgomery, Alabama, and Debra (Michael) Morris of Crawfordsville; grandchildren, Kalea Brock, Makaya Brock, Jordan Barnes and Bella McRoberts; great-granddaughter Alyssa Choate; and eight nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wesley and Audrey Ehrie; brother-in-law Darrell Radar; and grandson Kaleb Smith.

Cremation was chosen with a celebration of life is planned for 1-4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 13 at the Eagles, 920 E. South Blvd., Crawfordsville. A service in Punta Gorda is planned for a later date.
