The General Lew Wallace Study & Museum will welcome Suzanne Hahn, vice president of Archives and Library at the Indiana Historical Society, who will discuss “The Collections of the Indiana Historical Society” at 7 p.m. Sept. 29. The lecture will be held at Whitlock Hall in St. John’s Episcopal Church, 212 S. Green St.
Since 1830, The Indiana Historical Society has been collecting and preserving Indiana’s unique stories; bringing Hoosiers together in remembering and sharing the past — including Lew and Susan Wallace. Suzanne will discuss not only how the Society has grown and refined its collection, but also new collecting initiatives that will inspire future Hoosiers.
On Sept. 30, the General Lew Wallace Study & Museum will sponsor a field trip to the Indiana Historical Society in Indianapolis. Transportation will not be provided. This installment of the Dr. Howard Miller Lecture Series will complement the General Lew Wallace Study & Museum’s current annual exhibit, “This Just In: Recent Acquisitions at the Museum.” The exhibit, which is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday in the Carriage House Interpretive Center, is free of charge, focuses recent acquisitions to the Museum’s collection.
Museum staff encourages visitors and lecture attendees to wear masks and maintain six feet social distancing.
