Study offers look inside T.C. Steele’s home and studio

Jessica Stephens from the Indiana State Museum’s T.C. Steele Historic Site will give a lecture for the General Lew Wallace Study & Museum. Her presentation, “A Look Inside the Studio & Home of T.C. Steele,”  will take place at 7 p.m. Thursday in the Fellowship Hall of St. John’s Episcopal Church, 212 S. Green St.

T.C. Steele spent his childhood in Waveland and worked as a portrait artist in Crawfordsville before moving to Brown County. Stephens studied at Indiana University for her bachelors of arts, double majoring in art history and history. Her minor is in classical civilizations. She also has a masters in the science of education with an emphasis in museum education. In July 2020, she became the Site Manager of the T.C. Steele State Historic Site.
