Boys Sectional Swim & Dive

Swimming sectional field is set

The field is set for the IHSAA boys swim and dive sectional at Crawfordsville High School.

Several area swimmers performed well in Thursday’s preliminary meet to advance to the Saturday finals.

Crawfordsville swimmers advancing are the 200 medley relay team of Braxton Lewellen, Shawn Ewoldt, Henry Hoar and Jackson Miles who won the event. Adrian Medina will compete in the 200 freestyle. Ewoldt, Lewellen and Jayden Callejas will compete in the 200 individual medley. Daniel Surface will swim in the 50 freestyle finals. Hoar and Callejas will compete in the 100 butterfly.

Surface also will swim the 100 freestyle along with Jackson Miles and Chet Kincaid.  Medina and Jared Roche will compete in the 500 freestyle. Crawfordsville’s 200 freestyle relay will be comprised of Konner Elsbury, Konner Hartlep, Surface and Miles. Callejas, Medina, Ellsbury and Surface won the 400 freestyle relay.

North Montgomery will be represented in several events. Jack Rogers, Marshall Templeman, Avery Wright and Josh Hunsberger will swim in the 200 medley relay. Templeman won the 200 individual medley. Wright also will be in the 100 butterfly and the 500 freestyle along with Logan Smith. The 200 freestyle relay team of Rogers, Ben Oppy, Smith and Sam Woolwine will compete today. Rogers also will swim in the 100 backstroke finals.

Templeman won the 100 breaststroke for his second top seed event. Templeman will be joined by Wright, Hunsberger, Rogers and Wright in the 400 freestyle relay.

Southmont will be led by Clayton Allen who won the 100 butterfly and also will swim in the 500 freestyle and is a member of the 200 freestyle relay along with Paxton Burris, Hunter Gray and Daxton Cottrell. Allan will be joined with Trent Reeves, Burris and Gray in the 400 freestyle relay.

Burris also will compete in the 500 freestyle and 200 freestyle.

Fountain Central swimmers advancing were the 200 medley relay team of Ayden Donaldson, Gage Harrison, Eli Sower and Brody Larkin.

Sowder will also swim in the 100 butterfly and will be joined by Larkin, Donaldson and Harrison. Harrison also will swim in the 100 breaststroke.

The diving competition will begin at 9 a.m. and the swim finals are scheduled to start at 1 p.m. at the Crawfordsville Aquatic Center.
