The New Market Sesquicentennial Committee would like to thank everyone who participated in the festivities to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the founding of New Market. We wish to extend a special thank you to the New Market Community Volunteer Fire Department for providing meals throughout the weekend, cleaning the streets, and helping administer the committee. Additionally, we want to thank those that helped spruce up the downtown -— High Rollers, Flip Walters, Skylar Stevenson of Ace Hardware and New Market Welding (for the use of the generator) for painting the scale building at the elevator. The old grocery store and old gas station also received fresh coats of paint and flower pots and benches were also donated to the downtown area. Additionally, everyone who donated money or volunteered to help make the weekend a success — you are truly appreciated.

The Montgomery County Probation Department would like to say a big “thank you” to Pete Barr, Tao Zhu and Wes Bolton of TemperPedic, who graciously donated new mattresses to individuals in need within the community. It was amazing seeing how impactful this gift was; more than a few tears of gratefulness were shed by recipients. You truly changed some lives with your gift of kindness and generosity.

Thank you also to Shawn Blackwell, Shari Harrington and Jessica Burget for the warehouse storage and assistance. We live in a great community!
