Thomas C. Witherspoon, 63, of Crawfordsville passed away Thursday, Dec. 9, 2021.
He was born Oct. 20, 1958, at Detroit, to Thomas and Catherine Hubbard Witherspoon.
He attended Henry Ford Community College in Dearborn, Michigan.
Tom worked as a paleontologist, and was known over the globe as “The Crinoid King” for the extraordinary work he did.
He was a member of the Mid-American Paleontological Society (MAPS) for over 30 years.
Tom is survived by brother Tim of St. Clair, Michigan; son Tim of Indianapolis; and granddaughter Zoey.
Cremation was chosen with a memorial service to be held at a later date.
