Tom Endicott, 79, of Lake Holiday passed away Monday night, March 30, 2020, at home.

Tom was a people person who liked to socialize and visit with people. He would sit on the bench at the front of Walmart and talk to anyone. He worked at RR Donnelley and retired from Consolidated Freightways, where his job was to pick up at all the factories in Crawfordsville. He served his country in the U.S. Marines, stationed at Camp Lejeune.

Tom was a 50-year member of the Darlington American Legion and the Alamo Masonic Lodge. He was also a member of Christ Lutheran Church, the Scottish Rite, Eagles and Teamsters Union. He served many years on the board at the Odd Fellows Cemetery in Darlington and assisted with its projects. He was an avid woodworker, master gardener and very good fish fryer.

Born April 2, 1940, at Darlington, he got the nickname “April Fool.” He was the son of Henry Endicott and Betty Peterson Endicott. He graduated from Darlington High School in 1958. On June 30, 1962, he married Janice Cleveland at the Darlington United Methodist Church. She survives.

Surviving family includes: wife Janice Endicott; four children, son Jeff (Terry) Endicott, daughter Jacque (Dave) Hudson, son Jody (Gina) Endicott and daughter Jeri (Bob) Massey; seven grandchildren, Zach, Travis, J.D., Maggie, Katie, Eyan and Rowan; and four great-grandchildren, Ezekiel, Rafe, Elijah and Ainsley.

He was preceded in death by grandson Theron.

A private graveside service will be held Monday for his immediate family at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Darlington, led by Pastor Kelly Nelson. A memorial gathering will be announced as restrictions are lifted.
