Troy Oliver Cope, 57, went to be with the Lord at 10:45 p.m. Monday, Sept. 6, 2021, surrounded by his loving family at home after a short battle with cancer.

Troy was born June 12, 1964, at Lafayette, to Robert L. and Connie Kay (Freeman) Cope. He graduated in 1982 from North Montgomery High School. After graduating, he enlisted in the United States Navy where he served five years.

After leaving the military, Troy spent 21 years working at Temple Inland. He went on to work for Flutes Incorporated where he was employed from 2011 to the present.

Troy is survived by his parents; his wife of 29 years, Crystal (Williams) Cope; four children, Trisha Cope, Tiffany (Matt) Clark, Shelby (Kyle) Burger and Lucas Cope; five grandchildren, Raelyn, Caden, LJ, Olivia and Emersyn; brother Bobby (Kertrena) Cope; and sister Lisa (Terry) Cooksey.

He is preceded in death by his sister, Cindy Rauch.

Troy was a devoted husband, a rock star dad and a fun-loving Papa. He knew how to light up a room and never knew a stranger. When he wasn’t spending time with his family, he enjoyed watching racing and other sporting events. He also loved making memories with his family at the beach. Family was everything to him.

Cremation was chosen along with a celebration of life. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 17 at Whitesville Christian Church, with a service to follow at 7 p.m. Servies & Morgan Funeral Home has been entrusted with Troy’s arrangements.

You are invited to visit www.serviesmorgan.com where you may leave an online condolence for the family.
