MONTGOMERY COUNTY —  The Indiana Department of Transportation announces U.S. 136 will close on or after Aug. 15 for a small structure replacement project near Mace. U.S. 136 will be closed at approximately 5.14-miles east of the State Road 32/S.R. 47 intersection. It’s expected to reopen at the end of September, weather permitting.

The official detour follows U.S. 136 to S.R. 32 to I-74 to S.R. 39 and back to U.S. 136.

This project was awarded to Crackers Demo for $1.8 million. It also includes culvert work on S.R. 234 in Montgomery County, U.S. 41 in Parke County and S.R. 71 in Vermillion County. The entire project is expected to be completed in May of 2023.
