US 136 will close May 24 west of New Ross

MONTGOMERY COUNTY — The Indiana Department of Transportation announces U.S. 136 will close on or after May 24 just west of New Ross to replace a box culvert over Cornstalk Creek, located between C.R. 850E and C.R. 500S. The official detour follows U.S. 136, S.R. 32, I-74, to S.R. 75 and back. This is scheduled to be completed by Sept. 1.

This project also includes replacing the bridge on State Road 59 over Little Raccoon Creek located just south of S.R. 47 in Waveland. This is scheduled to close on or after June 1. The official detour follows S.R. 47, S.R. 234, U.S. 231, S.R. 236 and back. This is scheduled to be completed by Aug. 15.

Morphey Construction Inc. was awarded the $1.1 million contract.
