LINDEN — The Valero Renewables plant in Linden has contributed $2,700 to Crawfordsville Mobile Integrated Health toward Project Swaddle.
Project Swaddle is a home-visiting program that provides a community paramedic or registered nurse as physician-extenders to reduce poor maternal health outcomes and deliver wrap-around care for pregnant women and recent mothers who face any number of health, social and environmental challenges. Project Swaddle is a program of the City of Crawfordsville - Mobile Integrated Health department which partners with Franciscan Health.
The program goals include reducing poor maternal and infant health outcomes and disparities, improving access to prenatal and postpartum healthcare and other support services, expanding the traditional scope of emergency care including mental, physical wellness, education and resources, ensuring safe home environments for raising a family, reducing hospital re-admissions, emergency department visits and overall healthcare costs.
This donation will provide the program with Safe Sleep Simulation kits and resources to support Safe Sleep education to expectant mothers, new parents, and caregivers.
