Veedersburg man dies in head-on crash

PARKE COUNTY — A Veedersburg man died in a two-vehicle crash in Parke County on Sunday afternoon.

The Parke County Sheriff’s Department reported that deputies were dispatched at 12:24 p.m. Sunday to a head-on crash on U.S. 41 near the 132 mile-marker in the area known as “snake holler.” A 2012 Toyota Camry driven by Brad A. Pollock, 47, Veedersburg had been traveling northbound on U.S. 41 and went left of center in a turn and collided with a southbound 2015 Ford F150 driven by Michael S. Myers, 61, of Waynetown.

Pollock was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

Myers and his passenger sustained non-life threatening injuries and were transported to Union Hospital in Clinton.

The sheriff’s department report listed excessive speed as a contributing factor in the crash.

Deputies were assisted at the scene by Parke County EMS, Lyford Rescue, Adams Township Rescue, Mecca Fire Department and the Rosedale Town Marshal.
