Virginia Anderson passed away Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2023, at IU Arnett Hospital in Lafayette.
She was born Oct. 11, 1940, at Indianapolis, to Harold and Oma (Bradley) Wright. In 1958, Virginia and David Anderson were married, spending 51 years together until his passing in 2009.
Virginia graduated from Harry Wood High School in Indianapolis. She worked at the hospital in Crawfordsville as a phlebotomist for over 25 years. Virginia was a longtime member of Cross Point Church and a member of the Red Hat Society. She loved collecting items and treasured her chicken figurines. In her younger years, she loved gardening and fishing.
Virginia is survived by her two sons, Joseph (Kelley) Anderson and David (Sandy) Anderson; grandson Brecken (Victoria) Anderson; and great-granddaughter Cora.
She was predeceased by her husband, David Anderson; and two sisters, Coralee and Marge.
Cremation was chosen with a gathering of family and friends held on Monday, Feb. 13 from 11 a.m. until the time of the celebration of life at noon at Crosspoint Church, with Pastor Chris Cregger officiating. A private family burial will be held in Oak Hill South Cemetery at a later date.
