LINDEN — The North Montgomery volleyball team picked up a 3-0 (25-13, 25-12, 25-23) over Attica on Tuesday night.

North cruised in the first two sets, and held on in the third to complete the sweep and improve its record to 5-20 on the season.

“I thought they played pretty disciplined in one and two, and then relaxed in that third set,” Chargers coach Jodi Webster said. “And let them play with us, but the positive is they did come back from a deficit and they kept their confidence up and finished out with a win today, and as we go toward the sectional that’s an attitude you want to see from your players.”

Webster has seen continued improvement from her young team as the Chargers turn the corner in the latter part of the season.

“We’ve seen continued growth, and with the changes that we’ve made my whole goal for them was to be an October team, and I want to keep that goal for us.”

Emily Sennett and Kholey Surface led the Chargers with five kills apiece, while Madi Welch had 12 assists.

The Chargers celebrated Sennett, Surface, Gracie Chapman, and Grace Little with the senior night win.

“I’ve known these girls since some of them were babies,” Webster said. “They’ve been with me for so many years. My work at the middle school and then coming here I have the opportunity to be in their lives for a lot of years. It is an awesome gift as a coach to watch these kids develop from the youth all the way through.”

North Montgomery travels to Sagamore Conference leader Western Boone on Thursday.
