Wabash College brings 12 thought-provoking speakers to campus on March 21 when it hosts the fourth TEDxWabashCollege event in Ball Theater at the Fine Arts Center.

The theme for this year’s TEDxWabashCollege is “By Design.” From planning metropolises, like San Francisco, to scheduling a meeting in the conference room on your floor, the world around us has been created through structure and intention. However, the world is quickly changing. In order to navigate all the moving parts, we need to live a life by design, full of purposeful decisions.

Doors open for the event at 2:30 p.m. and the speakers begin at 3 p.m. In addition to the 12 talks, attendees will enjoy hors d’oeuvres, beverages, and entertainment during intermissions, including T-shirt give-aways.

TEDxWabashCollege unites speakers from across the country to share their groundbreaking ideas and uplifting stories with Wabash students, faculty, and staff, as well as the greater Crawfordsville, Lafayette, Indianapolis and Chicago communities.

“The avant-garde speakers provided inspiration and motivation for all present,” said Dr. BeAnn Younker, a 2019 TEDxWabashCollege attendee. “It was a great event for challenging your beliefs, ideals and motivation. An entertaining experience for our college and surrounding communities.”

The speakers for this year’s TEDxWabashCollege include one of the nation’s most respected journalists, an international best-selling author, a top-100 podcast host, and a health and wellness influencer.

What started as a small annual speaking event four years ago has grown into a sold-out event with Wabash students managing all aspects of the day-long program.

“To see the growth of TEDxWabashCollege over the past four years has been nothing short of amazing,” said organizer David Riggs ’20. “We take great pride in quickly becoming one of the college’s most well-known and well-promoted events. Our goal is for attendees to have fun and return each year for the same guarantee of inspiration and entertainment.”

Only 350 tickets are available at $20. The event is open to the public and tickets can be reserved through the TEDxWabashCollege website: https://www.tedxwabashcollege.com/2020.

The 2020 TEDxWabashCollege event is sponsored by the Robbins Family Fund, Engeldow Group, Indianapolis Association of Wabash Men, First Merchants Bank, CymbalUX, Reach 36, Pnuema Media LLC, Dreyer Reinbold Infiniti and Tom Wood Automotive Group.
