The Wabash College tennis team honored seniors Jett Brownlee and Christan Zimmerman before the Little Giants’ final home match of the 2024-2025 season on Saturday afternoon. Wabash picked up its second 7-0 shutout win in a North Coast Athletic Conference match with a win over Wittenberg University.
Brownlee joined teammate Eric Tien at number two doubles to earn a 6-1 victory and secure the team point for the Little Giants after a forfeit by the visiting Tigers at number three doubles gave Vittorio Bona and Murilo Guarniari a win. Augusto Ghidini and Rafael Rin scored a 6-1 victory at number one doubles to complete the shutout.
Brownlee also earned a forfeit win at number six singles in his final home match. Zimmerman earned a 6-0, 6-1 victory in his last home match at number five singles. Cole Shifferly won his number one singles match 6-3, 6-2. Guarniari picked up a 6-4, 6-4 win in the second singles flight. Bon won a 6-0, 6-1 decision at number three singles. Tien blanked his fourth singles opponent for a 6-0, 6-0 victory.
Wabash finishes the NCAC portion of its schedule with a 4-3 record and moves to 13-8 overall for the season. The Little Giants wrap up the regular season on Friday with a match at Ohio Northern University before competing in the NCAC Tournament beginning May 2.
