Wallace Study seeks volunteers for Park Day

Posted

The General Lew Wallace Study & Museum is seeking volunteers for Park Day on April 10.

Park Day is the American Battlefield Trust’s annual hands-on preservation event. Thousands of volunteers across the country will participate as the event celebrates its 25th year.

Volunteers will meet at 9 a.m. in the Carriage House to assist with various maintenance projects. Tasks include painting picnic tables and railings, raking gardens, dividing perennials, spreading mulch and general grounds cleanup.

A free tour of the museum will be offered to all volunteers.

The American Battlefield Trust is a national nonprofit land preservation organization devoted to the protection of America’s hallowed battlegrounds. It saves the battlefields of the Civil War, Revolutionary War and War of 1812, and educates the public about their importance in forging the nation we are today. To date, the Trust has preserved over 50,000 acres of battlefield land in 24 states. Learn more at battlefields.org.
