WAYNETOWN — The Town of Waynetown and the Montgomery County Redevelopment Commission have announced the initiation of a strategic planning effort to explore potential opportunities at the Interstate 74 and State Road 25 interchange.
This planning initiative aims to understand the desires and opportunities for development around the interchange, paving the way for thoughtful growth and future economic development opportunities.
The funding for this initiative comes from the Montgomery County Redevelopment Commission, utilizing funds allocated to help drive economic development activities throughout the county. The town of Waynetown has expressed strong support for this effort, highlighting a desire to understand the potential for a range of economic opportunities and an understanding of the desires of the property owners in the area, as well as other key stakeholders and citizens.
“This interchange is a key access point for our region, and it presents exciting opportunities to enhance the quality of life for our residents,” said Montgomery County Commissioner John Frey. “By carefully planning now, we can ensure future development will benefit the community in meaningful ways.”
A public workshop to gather feedback regarding desired goals and land uses for the interchange is scheduled for 6 p.m. Dec. 12 at the Waynetown Christian Church, 101 W. Walnut St., Waynetown. The community’s involvement in this planning process will play a crucial role in shaping the plan’s outcomes and setting the vision for future development at the interchange.
