WAYNETOWN — Waynetown is being awarded money for road projects, the state announced Tuesday.

The town will receive more than $461,341 in matching funds through the Next Level Roads: Community Crossings Initiative. The money will be used to finish paving streets and make any necessary ADA upgrades to intersections.

Waynetown must contribute 25% of the funds.

The first half of the town’s roads were paved with Community Crossings funds last year.

The state awarded more than $126 million in matching grants to 214 Indiana cities, towns and counties for local roadwork.

Attica, Covington and Veedersburg along with Fountain, Hendricks, Putnam and Tippecanoe counties were the other area communities to receive money this round.

Another estimated $100 million in road project funding will be available in July for communities to seek.
