William “Bill” Frazee, 79, of rural Waynetown passed away Oct. 13, 2022, at Franciscan Health Lafayette, after several health problems.

He was born Oct. 21, 1942, and raised on a small farm near Paducah, Kentucky. After high school he attended Murray State College, Kentucky where he studied ag business. He had several jobs in the agriculture field until 1966 when he went into the Army. He was commissioned 2nd lieutenant and served in Korea and the South East Asia operations.

In 1967, he married Alice Joan Bice in Earl Park. In 1970 they settled in rural Waynetown. He worked at Mid-States Steel and Wire until its closing. In the early 70’s he was a captain in Crawfordsville National Guard.

Bill deeply loved his family, scrap metal recycling, gardening and being outside. He was fond of humor and often played jokes on his kids. He always put others before himself and he took care of his wife until her passing in 2014. Bill and Alice had been large supporters of the FISH Food Pantry, and spent a good many of their retirement years clipping coupons to use on foods and goods they would then donate to the pantry. Bill had been a member of Milligan Memorial Presbyterian Church and enjoyed attending when he had been able.

He is survived by brother Joe Frazee of Kentucky; children, Christine Dowell of Crawfordsville, Peggy Frazee of Indianapolis, William (Cindy) Frazee of rural New Richmond, Julia Kreighbaum of Homer, Illinois, Carol (Ken) Logsdon of Linnsburg, Wade (Sue) Frazee of rural Hillsboro, Alicia (Alan) Slavens of rural Crawfordsville and Margaret (Nathan) Lynd of rural New Richmond; 22 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, JD and Francis Frazee; brother Dennis Frazee; and granddaughter Julia Dawn Stearns.

Visitation hours are 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 18 with funeral services at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 19, with Pastor Alan Goff officiating all at Family and Friends Funeral Home of Wingate.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his honor to the FISH Food Pantry.
